10 Frame Games

We learned a new game yesterday. Each player gets a ten-frame board and the goal is to fill your ten-frame as quickly as possible. The players take turns rolling a die and then placing the same number of markers on their board. As the boards get full, the game gets very exciting as you need to roll the exact number you need to fill your board (e.g., rolling a three of you have three spaces left). This game helps children understand the different quantities that make up 10 (e.g., 6+4, 7+3, 5+5).

Goalball

Today we went to an assembly in our gym about Goalball. We learned a bit about how it was invented and then got to try it out ourselves!!

"Paralympic goalball is exclusive to athletes who have a visual impairment. Goalball is an intensely unique spectator sport given the venue atmosphere and extreme concentration and silence required by the athletes."(Paralympic.ca)
